Did I say "Lew Bloch"?
Pay attention.
You may have been around for years, yet, like many others,
have driven those roads blind, failing to pay attention.
Derbyshire excels in bushwhacking the blind.

--->note the email addresses used.

Or you could simply ask "Lew Bloch"?
Google says that Lew is a GG poster.
My policy is the same as thousands of other
Usenetizens of note. I filter GG posts to -999 [kill], if
the server I use does list them. Many servers do
not accept GG posts, for good reason.

That said.

Paul Derbyshire did not begin in java related groups
'yesterday'.
Paul has been here (and elsewhere) for years.. you
would know this IF you had been paying attention.
In 2008 I well recall at least three professionals hauling
Paul though tutorials on his 'corrupt' Java script.
Eventually Paul was 'booted' for trolling.

When you are going to refer to some 'obscure', or not related
to a current topic (in a subthread) comment, you _must_ supply
a link to your reference.
Thankyou for forcing me to download a Guggler's post.. not!

REF shows the messageID for the origin of the thread (I think)
you refer to. I am not downloading and reading the thread
to do your work, work you can do.

<4e14a510$0$6450$c3e8da3$b1356c67@news.astraweb.com>
.. and only as you were responding to a known fuckwit.
You rejected the advice I gave at that time, so what is going
to change, now?

Neither a "theory" nor a hypothetical, Miss.
Tis a plain raw Truth.

History?
fyi....
Every post (made with XNA=No) is archived in text newsgroups
correctly listed in a nwsrc file. Were _some_ to know that small
fact of Usenet Life they would not post an iota of the shit they do.
Paul is an exception to this.
Paul posts regardless.
Paul well knows folks (as yourself) have not the skills to go look
at your history 'book' -- before you say anything further on a
topic -- nor think beyond their own response to whatever is put.

btw..this 'phenomena is directly related to the influx of "chat"
type attitudes which permeated Usenet upon the arrival of
@home'rs and AOL'ers, post y2K. Before that time (evolution)
contributions were much more focused on information than
"scoring points". And a lot of point scoring was done with a twist
of humour. Humour today's audience is largely ignorant to. The
new audience requires to be told when to clap.. hence we now
have AOL type emoticons happening in posts :-D

The clock cannot be turned back, so those of us who do
know do what is to be done with those who do not know, and act
on removing those who do not care.
Aint nothing "personal", it is a 'free service'.

Now _that_ was the "right thing to do" :-)

As commented earlier.. you do have some smarts.
Perhaps if you were to pay attention some you may
well avoid the need to generate posts in getting yourself
out of tight spots?

You will note Paul is projecting again?
Another close trademark of his.
Message-ID: <ivd9kd$l35$2@speranza.aioe.org>

Finally?
Paul could care less about how many posts he generates.
Paul just swaps a name out and he is in your face
again, and he knows it. That is the important outcome he
seeks.
One "side effect" is the fact that many wise people filter out
not only his posts but anyone who _ever_ responds to his shit.
What that does for innocents (as yourself) is to have your posts
wiped off the list, nobody who knows will see you, or 'list' you.
As it is usually the most savvy of members who understand
how to filter, you are then denied _all_ the best feedback
on topical information you wish to query.
Perhaps this is exactly the case in the parent topic/s to this
post of mine. I have done what I can to get that fxd also.

Effectively Paul is about slaying the clueless, his peers.
Take that much on-board at least  |8:-}

What does your classic unsubstantiated and erroneous claim have to do

piece of software, Erwin, except for little kids' game and educational
software.

What does your classic erroneous presupposition have to do with Java,
Erwin? There is no evidence of any kind of "handicap" on blmblm's part
and no evidence that she doesn't "get it".

But your mangled syntax is rather recognizable, Erwin. Or should I
call you murphy? You've been trolling alt.free.newsservers under than

unintelligible nonsense in the same characteristic style.

changed.

142> Anything more and you are simply seeking to waste even

No. But I don't recognize "tX'n" or "bogan".

No idea what you mean here either ("fxd"? "REF? though the
latter could be a reference to "References" header), but I doubt
it's important.

In general I suppose I don't find some of the old-style techspeak
shorthand very appealing. Maybe that's why I don't recognize some
of yours. <shrug>

Ah. Case and spacing are significant, aren't they. I did assume
that "Lew Bloch" and "lewbloch" were the same, but that might not
be the case. Still, some of the posts made by "lewbloch" do show
some familiar tropes (if that's the word I want). Example:

Message-ID: <90bbfd1b-cb7e-4fbb-9890-f1196c633e8d@a11g2000yqm.googlegroups.com>

("[sic]" and objecting to JAVA, in particular.)

I assumed (apparently wrongly) that you had followed the whole
exchange. I'd have included a message ID if I'd thought it
really mattered. (I think.) Anyway for the record

<97hctfFa1jU1@mid.individual.net>

is the one I meant.

As I understand things, the main piece of advice you have given
me is to change my setup so that it shows something other than
a now-obsolete e-mail address as my "name". I decline to follow
that advice, yes.

I'm well aware that Google is attempting to carry on with the
complete(?) archive of Usenet posts begun by Deja News, though
sometimes the access they provide to it isn't what one might hope
for. Is there anyone else who claims to be providing the same
service? AIUI most news servers do not retain posts indefinitely.

Just for the record, the name "Paul Derbyshire" is not new to me --
I've been following this group for long enough to have observed (and,
alas, participated in) previous discussions in which the name arose.
That's what I meant by "history". Apparently you thought I meant
something else. Yeah well.

Nothing that Erwin writes is important, blmblm, and much of it is

What does your classic erroneous presupposition have to do with Java,

nonsense language that Erwin aka murphy aka phlat_Arse aka Flash aka
glyph aka numerous other handles uses when trolling newsgroups,
blmblm. With your past history in this newsgroup you should be
familiar with the concept, blmblm.

In Java, blmblm, but not in normal English. Of course, what Erwin

I doubt Erwin reads very much of what is posted, blmblm. Trolls rarely

Another post in this thread references a post with message ID

981c5iFlgtU3@mid.Massingill.null

and claiming to be from "n07-Ms.Massingill". It's probably clear
to anyone who's still following this subthread that I did not write
said post.

I'm responding to my own post rather than to the -- I'm not sure
whether to call it a forgery or a demonstration of spoofing skills
or what -- because that post (forgery/spoof) wasn't delivered to
me by my news server. I know about it only because someone else
replied and quoted parts of it. Whether that means it hasn't
arrived yet, or it did arrive and was discarded according to
whatever rules they employ, I don't know. I was curious enough to
check Google's archives, and couldn't find it by message ID, but
fortunately searching on *my* message ID found a thread including
the forgery/spoof.

Anyway, I think it's past time for me to stop participating in this
thread; it seems to be going in some direction I'd prefer to avoid.
I'll say for the record that in previous posts replying to those
from Steve Erwin, anything that came across as disparaging was not
meant that way (e.g., when I say "apparently I'm not expressing
myself well", that's what I mean, rather than some subtle innuendo
about the reading comprehension of someone I don't know).

It's been -- interesting.
