Are you a "Redhat Distro" kinda girl? You are too 'old' for Ubuntu. That's "old=stable version" kind of "'old'" :-> Acknowledging you genuinely do not "get it", I put to you it is the case you own more of the handicap than I. No? Either way, *that* topic is dead. I have fxd REF - read the advice. Anything more and you are simply seeking to waste even more of freely given time. Hardly "neighbourly" is that :-] >> piece of bagatelle as >> your "From". I've been following >this group for several years, and -- I'm skeptical. <shrug> > Did I say "Lew Bloch"? Pay attention. You may have been around for years, yet, like many others, have driven those roads blind, failing to pay attention. Derbyshire excels in bushwhacking the blind. Lew Bloch http://groups.google.com/groups/search?as_q=&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&num=10&scoring=&lr=&as_sitesearch=&as_qdr=&as_mind=1&as_minm=1&as_miny=2011&as_maxd=1&as_maxm=1&as_maxy=2011&as_ugroup=&as_usubject=&as_uauthors=Lew+Bloch&safe=off lewbloch http://groups.google.com/groups/search?as_q=&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&num=10&scoring=&lr=&as_sitesearch=&as_qdr=&as_mind=1&as_minm=1&as_miny=2011&as_maxd=1&as_maxm=1&as_maxy=2011&as_ugroup=&as_usubject=&as_uauthors=lewbloch&safe=off --->note the email addresses used. Or you could simply ask "Lew Bloch"? Google says that Lew is a GG poster. My policy is the same as thousands of other Usenetizens of note. I filter GG posts to -999 [kill], if the server I use does list them. Many servers do not accept GG posts, for good reason. That said. Paul Derbyshire did not begin in java related groups 'yesterday'. Paul has been here (and elsewhere) for years.. you would know this IF you had been paying attention. In 2008 I well recall at least three professionals hauling Paul though tutorials on his 'corrupt' Java script. Eventually Paul was 'booted' for trolling. http://al.howardknight.net/msgid.cgi?STYPE=msgid&MSGI=%3C49223bfe%240%2490264%2414726298%40news.sunsite.dk%3E I suggest you go search posts by "Arne_Vajh". Thankyou for forcing me to download a Guggler's post.. not! REF shows the messageID for the origin of the thread (I think) you refer to. I am not downloading and reading the thread to do your work, work you can do. I came in here; <4e14a510$0$6450$c3e8da3$b1356c67@news.astraweb.com> .. and only as you were responding to a known fuckwit. You rejected the advice I gave at that time, so what is going to change, now? >Also, if your theory about real identities is correct, there may >be a history -- but that's all I'm going to say about that. > Neither a "theory" nor a hypothetical, Miss. Tis a plain raw Truth. History? fyi.... Every post (made with XNA=No) is archived in text newsgroups correctly listed in a nwsrc file. Were _some_ to know that small fact of Usenet Life they would not post an iota of the shit they do. Paul is an exception to this. Paul posts regardless. Paul well knows folks (as yourself) have not the skills to go look at your history 'book' -- before you say anything further on a topic -- nor think beyond their own response to whatever is put. btw..this 'phenomena is directly related to the influx of "chat" type attitudes which permeated Usenet upon the arrival of @home'rs and AOL'ers, post y2K. Before that time (evolution) contributions were much more focused on information than "scoring points". And a lot of point scoring was done with a twist of humour. Humour today's audience is largely ignorant to. The new audience requires to be told when to clap.. hence we now have AOL type emoticons happening in posts :-D The clock cannot be turned back, so those of us who do know do what is to be done with those who do not know, and act on removing those who do not care. Aint nothing "personal", it is a 'free service'. >> However, as said, you have been informed. You make your >> choice, as you will. > >[ snip ] > Now _that_ was the "right thing to do" :-) As commented earlier.. you do have some smarts. Perhaps if you were to pay attention some you may well avoid the need to generate posts in getting yourself out of tight spots? You will note Paul is projecting again? Another close trademark of his. Message-ID: <ivd9kd$l35$2@speranza.aioe.org> Finally? Paul could care less about how many posts he generates. Paul just swaps a name out and he is in your face again, and he knows it. That is the important outcome he seeks. One "side effect" is the fact that many wise people filter out not only his posts but anyone who _ever_ responds to his shit. What that does for innocents (as yourself) is to have your posts wiped off the list, nobody who knows will see you, or 'list' you. As it is usually the most savvy of members who understand how to filter, you are then denied _all_ the best feedback on topical information you wish to query. Perhaps this is exactly the case in the parent topic/s to this post of mine. I have done what I can to get that fxd also. Effectively Paul is about slaying the clueless, his peers. Take that much on-board at least |8:-} -- Steve
