Well, Fritz, aside from markspace said, you have been given lots of very, very specific advice on how to tell what books are newer and useful. Your question was whether older books could help you. That question has been answered here repeatedly, in depth, with links. Now you take a condescending tone with someone who's trying to accent that information with yet another vote for modern texts? Are you sure that is a good way to respond? If the information provided here doesn't help you, then nothing will.
