Another source of bugs.

A relative who worked for a well-known software company remarked
that he was required to use others libraries.  He also worked with source
littered with patches whose purpose was to accommodate the quirks of
various clients' systems.  He would cross his fingers, link it all in and
pray that everything worked.  The bigger the project, the more others
are involved, and the less control there is.
