The production of electricity is in the 50% range according to the European Environment Agency. I don't know them, are they to be trusted? If you include the heat energy that is utilized the efficiencies are over 50%. Even if the two are on similar footing in terms of amount of C02 produced (electricity and heating), dealing with half the problem is not much better than not dealing with the problem at all. The CO2 problem is so far out of control that ending half of our CO2 production just won't fix the problem. Rick
