About 3 years The extension cables have lasted a lot longer than that with all but one of them. The one that failed was the one that I usually put the USB sticks that leave the house with movies on go into so its not surprising it failed first given its much higher activity. Mine is likely in a darker position than yours quite a bit of the time. It normally lives on one of those stands that are normally used to have a book on on one of those tables be ridden people use that sits off to the left of the big arm chair I compute from, under the left most 24" wide screen monitor. The two monitors are angled at about 110 degrees. I do brief typing with my left hand with it still on the stand. When I enter more text like I am doing right now, it comes off the stand onto my lap for the duration of the post, sitting on the A4 sized piece of stiff card that is one cover of a recipe book which I mouse around on. After that post I did find that while the caps lock led wasn't super visible with the keyboard still on the stand, pressing it make the led much more visible. When the keyboard is on my lap, its plenty visible without doing that. >>> All the other keys can be blinding >> Don't find that either. >>> but not the most important one >>> The "Caps Lock light"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >> IMO it's the least important one because >> it shows on the screens that matter and is >> easy to see with the screens where it doesn't.
