The idea is that you can have your home on a USB that is encrypted and 
then plug it in on a random Linux machine and then be able to access 
your files.

It will change how a home directory is configured, which makes it 
different from non-systemd Linux.

NFS ain't a RedHat product, systemd is.

Yes, it's about streamline Linux with that closed source thing, picking 
the worst and implement it, but don't worry, microsoft will soon have a 
Linux kernel as the main OS to run their product, so you can more or 
less pick the one you think is worst ;)

Sure there are a bunch of die-hard systemd free distributions, but sure 
they will be limited in applications they can run as some tools just 
depend on systemd and those will never come to Unix either.

I hope that within the coming 20 years we will see a first stable 
version of GNU/Hurd, that would be something that would make me quite 
happy to switch.
