I just know that installing Cinnamon and Xfce (this computer started with the Mate desktop) didn't cause any issues. And I think the Cinnamon desktop was about 200 MBs of storage space and the Xfce install used less. I've got some redundancy, but that doesn't bother me. It was just two simple commands to add Xfce and Cinnamon... sudo apt install mint-meta-xfce sudo apt install mint-meta-cinnamon Resulted in full installs of all three desktops. -- Linux Mint Cinnamon 21.3
