I have an 8G micro-SD card, and an app. that claims to be able to move 
more of the app.s to it than the built-in OS (and it does, but still not 
all of them).

You used "el-cheapo" and "$130" in the same sentence. IIRR my DooGee was 
about 50 pounds when I bought it - and it was a medium-spec machine at 
that time. (Yes, I know the latest iPhone is something like 999, but for 
real people ...)

My frustration is not _I think_ due to the Android's age, but to the 
fact that it is extremely different to Windows in the way it works. 
_Not_ necessarily worse, just different enough that I can spend _ages_ 
trying to figure out how to do things I do without a second thought in 
Windows - and I don't think a later Android would be any "better" in 
that regard.

(And yes, I do realise I'm in an Android 'group!)

Though having it possible for the built-in keyboard disappear altogether 
_does_ seem a rather drastic failing. I think I _could_ disable it in 
Windows, but at least a power-down cycle would make the machine find and 
install it again. (OK, I know I'm not comparing like with like - I'm 
talking about a real physical keyboard in Windows, and an on-screen one 
in Android - but still.)
