  As I mentioned, dragging is a bad idea, because you want a *copy* of
the shortcut, not *remove* the shortcut from the (Windows 11) 'Start'
menu.

  So go again to the icon in the 'Start' menu, bug now: right-click ->
More -> Open file location. You're now in File Explorer and the desired
icon/shortcut is highlighted. So do: right-click -> Show more options ->
Copy. Now move your pointer to the Desktop -> right-click -> Paste
shortcut. And voila!

(N.B. Of course many roads lead to Rome, so this is just one way. For
example I would just use Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V to copy/paste.)

(N.B.2. This works for normal programs (.exe in 'Program Files' or
'Program Files (x86)'), not for 'Apps' because for those you don't have
shortcuts in the 'Start' menu which you can copy. I assume that
LibreOffice is still Normal Software(TM).)
