My purpose in using it, is as a "student exercise" in
why we don't do it this way. It's possible (I haven't checked
yet), that as a single kernel call, it could "lock" the OS and
not play nicely. But then, as a developer, if you choose to
write your code that way, that's your choice. The compiler people
know it is not their job, to do engineering for people. The
option should be left open, to make it any size you might want,
as the size_t implies. Then if you don't like the dynamic
response of the thing, you'll change your code.

I'm a bit curious how Windows Defender handles the
shadowing of a large request like that. Does it
bug out ? Dunno. It's one of the reasons for testing
and investigating... if it had worked.
