In that case, go through the Registry. Get the service name
from the properties window for the service. Go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

In this case mine is called CDPUserSvc_42023

So you find that subkey and set Start to 4. If there's a
key without the numbers added, set that the same. I don't
know why they started adding the keys with numbers. I
assume it's some kind of obfuscation trick.

Worst case scenario is that the Registry won't even let you
change the setting! Then you have to right-click the key,
go to advanced security settings, change ownership to
Administrators, then go back and change the setting. You
can feel free to swear while doing it. Fortunately, a lot of
the crap in Win10/11 already has fixes in tweak programs like
Win10 Privacy, Open Shell, WinAero Tweaker, etc.

Yes, it's a pain. I spent two full weeks researching
Win10 sleaze when I first installed it. But you have to choose.
Do you want a computer that does what you tell it to, or do you
want spyware constantly popping up warnings and ads? If you
want the former, getting angry is not going to help. You just have
to do the work to clean it up.

This is not going to get any better. Our new "smart"
washer tries to make me wash the washer periodically,
using an official product called Affresh. Luckily I don't
have a smart frig or smart car, and my cheapo smart
TV only has limited moron-level capacity. I keep it offline,
so it doesn't cause problems.
