Ok. "Blueshifted" means the frequency increases and the
period gets shorter.

"Longer" applied to light means "redshifted". And some
inattentive readers now might read your sentence to say,
"The period of light is redshifted at lower altitude."
and see a contradiction to the first sentence.
So, one should clarify that light at a lower altitude is
redshifted /when seen from above/.
In other words:
Let's say there is a source SH of monochromatic light resting 40
Mm above the surface of the Earth together with an observer OH.
("H"="high")
Let's say there is a source SL of monochromatic light on the
surface of the Earth together with an observer OL. ("L"="low")
Let's call the frequency of the light of SH as observed by OH "fHH".
Let's call the frequency of the light of SL as observed by OH "fLH".
Let's call the frequency of the light of SH as observed by OL "fHL".
Let's call the frequency of the light of SL as observed by OL "fLL".
Then, fHH < fHL and fLH < fLL.
