Well, we felt good about overthrowing the government back in the 18th
century, why not now? Why was it NOT OK for the south to secede? Sauce
for the goose...
I see this as a real problem. There is no practical way to
SIGNIFICANTLY change our government now. Republicans in Kalifornia are
helpless. What DO we do?

There's a difference between "March on the Capitol" and "Invade and
trash". How do we encourage proper rebellion as opposed to encouraging
a mob? There's that "tree of liberty... blood of tyrants and patriots"
thing. Apparently it was OK as long as it happened a long time ago.

In theory people used to be able to do that. OTOH, there was the tulip
craze and other stuff. Mackay's 'Extraordinary Popular Delusions and
the Madness of Crowds' is applicable.
