Of course you block Google Analytics in your HOSTS file, right?
Does Android have a HOSTS file?
All of this is not even talking about the fact that Google have
repeatedly been caught lying and deliberately misleading people
about settings. (Last I remember hearing about it there was a
warning that it's not enough to disable location history. You also
have to turn off Web and App Activity. Google never stops with
clever ideas to keep spying and lying. It's their business.)
Then there are the indirect privacy issues, like the halfwits
who pay to join Amazon and then proudly give their Amazon
account ID at Whole Foods, so they can get an imaginary
discount.
If you keep your phone in a lead box you *might* have privacy.
Though I wouldn't be surprised if Google is partnering with those
companies that are putting up surveillance cameras at intersections,
so they have a video record of you driving around with your phone
in a lead box.
On the other hand, you use gmail. So you obviously
don't care about Google or anyone else tracking everything
you do. So how much is your privacy advice worth?
