Since the FreedomPop app is gone, and native support is now being used (yay!), you can now use the FreedomPop SIM card in any unlocked phone that supports VoLTE, even a flip phone that isn't running Android or iOS. Actually even a 3G GSM phone should work for now since AT&T hasn't yet shut down 3G. My old $10 (thanks Fry's!) ZTE Z-320, which is what I had a T-Mobile SIM card with the $10/year "Gold Rewards" plan, can now be used on FreedomPop and data is available (though it's painful to web browse on a little flip phone). This phone supports LTE bands 2, 4, & 12 and VoLTE. When I had this phone on T-Mobile it was pretty worthless to me since T-Mobile coverage in my area (San Francisco Bay Area) is not very good, plus no data was available on that old T-Mobile plan. Now that old phone would be more useful as a phone to throw into a backpack or bike bag, and since I ported my primary number to Google Voice I can forward calls to any phone number I want.
