The manual only documents WiFi for admin, and implies that’s the only way to so it. Yeah, that much I was aware of, trouble is, the installation of the mesh boxes is pretty automated. There are plenty of advanced settings though, so I think it’s just a matter of knowing what to put into the right boxes to get the Plusnet Router working as the only DHCP server. It does look like a bit of a messy setup now I’ve delved in a bit more. It is working though, and the workaround was to switch the AppleTV to WiFi connection (not a problem, as it’s getting an 867Mb connection), and seems to have caused no streaming issues, The rest of the stuff on Ethernet doesn’t communicate with anything else anyway.
