Actually, if I were the botmaster and you were the target of such an 
attack, I could stop the bot during that time to implicate you in the 
eyes of the attacker.

If SC went on vacation, you could stop the bot for that time and 
attempt to use the bot's stopping as 'evidence' SC was behind it.

It doesn't really take any deep technical understanding to realize this 
denial of service tactic is problematic.
