Yep.

It's the flexibility you get with C in general, the goal of which is to 
be flexible while being the simplest possible.

Some languages allow the same kind of flexibility with similar "for" 
loops, but with "true" iterators, which makes things a bit clearer and 
less risky, but not necessarily that much easier to read. Obviously C 
doesn't have any kind of iterators per se, so it's all to be done 
"manually".
