anche se è vero che in teoria i tempi di comunicazione sono 
strettissimi, i famosi 30 minuti, è ancora più vero che ci deve essere 
certezza della chiarezza dell' ordine.

quindi, per mantenere quanto conta dei missili nucleari (la deterrenza) 
serve soprattutto che l' ordine sia chiaro, confermato e soprattutto 
inequivocabile. e le comunicazioni devono rispondere a tre esigenze: 
solidità del collegamento, sicurezza e integrità.

l' hardware obsoleto non garantisce la sicurezza (non penso che un 
computer ad 8 bit possa decodificare un messaggio cifrato con GPG in 
meno di qualche ora.. quindi si deve scendere a compromessi sulla 
crittografia) ma garantisce l' integrità del segnale (bassa velocità di 
trasmissione) e solidità (a patto che la manutenzione viene fatta 
scrupolosamente)
