It is a daft idea. Just use [[ :: ]] like C++. It puts a little work on the compiler writers' desks, to support the new syntax. But most compiler vendors who would support C2x attributes in the near future already support C++ and C++ attributes. They already have the solutions in place for C++, meaning it might not be difficult to put it into their C front end. (It might still be a challenge if their front-ends are implemented differently.) It would be /insane/ to insist on unicode characters in the source code. It would be /insane/ to go back to digraphs to get round a new problem being introduced.
