No one will argue that with you. C++ /is/ a complex language, and its
compilers (and standard libraries) are hard to write. I am showing a
little of what can be written in the language, not denying that it is
complex. (Nor do I deny that simplicity in a language is a good thing,
as long as it has the features you need, nor do I deny it is possible to
create a language with the important features of C++ but less of the
complexity - if you don't need the historical baggage and compatibility
of C++.)

Fair enough.
I would not call C's VLA's "dynamic" - their size may be determined at
run-time, but they cannot be changed after creation, and have severe
limitations compared to "dymanic arrays" in many languages.

Certainly you should look at other languages too - I would not suggest
that C++ is the /only/ language you look at. I merely suggest that you
do look at it - it is an immensely popular and successful language, and
you should learn from it (including learning what you want to avoid).
