Nothing has to be physically reset. An indeterminate value is
consistent with leaving the value as it was previously, and
implementations are free to do that (and most do just because it's
easier).

Here's another example:
for (int i = 0; i < WHATEVER; i ++) {
{
int indeterminate;
}
{
int determinate = 42;
}
}
The objects `indeterminate` and `determinate` are likely to be stored in
the same location. You wouldn't expect `indeterminate` to retain its
previously stored value on the second iteration. The standard's wording
covers cases like this.
Now the standard *could* have specified different behavior if control
reaches the declaration of an uninitialized object without reaching the
end of the object's life time. But it would have been difficult to get
all the details right, and it would be useful only for very obscure
code, most likely involving backward gotos.
