What bugs me about this is the trolls' claim that Linux is "hobbyware" when 
it's Windows that's unstable, especially its updates. I didn't even know 
Microsoft had gotten rid of beta-testers and replaced them with fanboys. No 
wonder. One or two of the articles I read indicates that "Windows Insiders" 
are encouraged to try updates on "non-critical" test machines. So 
reinstalling Windows is not a big deal for them. And the Insiders who tested 
this October release pointed out serious problems that Microsoft ignored so 
they could get the update out. And this is somehow NOT hobbyware?

As I've mentioned in the past (and liars like "Hadron" and his various nyms 
ignore it) my Linux machines are not "cutting edge," which is probably why I 
don't have any trouble with Linux (or Linux updates) on any of them. 
Honestly, though, my wife's computers are not "cutting edge" either, but 
Windows always manages to monkey up updates on her laptop and (now twice) on 
her desktop. It's absurd that you have to cringe every time Windows updates 
itself.

It's also absurd that the "fix" for Windows errors is not consistent. Same 
error code and the forums and Youtube have multiple "fixes" in case the 
other "fixes" don't work. You go on Youtube and the "fix" for the error I 
had was ... try this, if that doesn't work, try this ... if that doesn't 
work ... try this ... if that doesn't work ... try this ... if that doesn't 
work ... try this ... if that doesn't work, reinstall. Why doesn't the same 
Microsoft error have the same fix? It's like a crapshoot. And this NOT 
hobbyware? 

Sorry, I just get pissed off thinking about all the wasted time I've spent 
trying to keep Windows running — and, usually, it's the updates (foisted on 
us by Microsoft) that causes the problems.
