Well, let’s see. 
Scientific revolutions you may have forgotten: 
- quantum field theory in 1950s
- electroweak unification in 1960s
- inflationary cosmology in 1980s

All of which have been exquisitely validated in experimental tests in
subsequent decades. 

How often do you think a scientific revolution should happen?
