A few posters in another newsgroup have postulated the notion that Marek 
would probably have had someone tidying things up for in the evetn that 
he were to suddenly pass away ─ a will of some sorts.  

Presumably, the executive of that will would then have contacted GitHub 
with the request of terminating the account.  One of the email addresses 
I had for Marek ─ his main address ─ was also linked to a domain that he 
himself had a lease on.  The services for that domain would then 
likewise have been terminated with Marek's passing.

Mind you, this is just speculation.  We're not really sure on the 
details of how all of this has gone down. :-/
