We will all miss Marek's kind and helfpul script-writing generosity.

I've been on Usenet for as long as anyone here, where only a few years ago
did I embrace Linux, where Marek kindly helped me MANY times, as I am the
"vpn user" who first asked for scripts, where, he voluntarily wrote the
first set, which we *all* tested together, for years, even as he did have
his first unexpected health episode during that testing time period.

His many "vpnget" and "vpnctest" and network-killing scripts are "still
working" so to speak on a Ubuntu laptop of mine whose fan died, so I "can"
resurrect them, but, as is my habit, I had always summarized the final
scripts after editing them in the a.o.l archives (for exactly this purpose
of reuse).

Marek helped me even when not writing scripts, as I'm the user who asked
about Opera privacy enforcement, where Marek was the only one on this
newsgroup who, at first resentful of what he considered a troll, then went
on to be the only one who figured out the valuable secret to wiping out
your previous "identity" on Opera in both Linux & Windows.

Marek was a quick, resourceful, and always helpful person, who will be
remembered, in so much as these archives are preserved in our history, as
one of the best Usenet citizens - always giving back - to the team - for
the common good of the tribal wisdom overall.

RIP Marek. I salute you.
