That's why file extensions are such a big security headache on MS. Obfuscating an executable and then tricking the OS to run the program is child's play. What a piss poor design! But Microshit follows the "good" design philosophy of not burdening its dummy user base with such details as file type. Wolfram and Matlab understand how software should be designed. In fact, both packages predate GNU/Linux but the eventual porting proved to be no problem. Other companies employ only MS toolkit jockeys. They could not port to anything else if their lives depended on it.
