Yes, I tried both of those.
The value for displaybootmenu is still "Yes".

I copied that from the page you linked to, but it didn't return as "successful" after it was entered.
The line above did work.

That was the problem.
For some reason, the value for mine was 0.
I changed it to 15, and pressing F8 does work now.
