We know that it is not.
For example, explain how, in the sodium-22 isotope, a proton decays into a
neutron, a positron and a neutrino.

OK, for the simplest case of two free charges, explain how a Helium-3 nucleus
stays together if there is no strong force, and the nucleus consists of three
protons and an electron (two protons and a neutron according to regular science)
and the protons all want to get away from each other.
