Whilst there, he decided to sample some Chinese beer and bought a crate of the stuff from a small off-licence type of shop. A few days later, he poured some into a glass to sample and found leaves from some plant or other in it. The next day he returned the crate to the shop for a refund. The girl behind the counter exploded into a blind rage, throwing cans and bottles at him then chased him down the street screaming obscenities in a shrill, high-pitched voice whilst beating him around the head with one of her shoes. Up until I heard about this, I'd always believed Germany 'enjoyed' the worst customer service reputation in the world. Mind you, this was a good few years ago so maybe Germany's top again by now.
