Be careful with strncmp. Under some circumstances, it will not
null-terminate the target string. Consider this code:
#include <stdio.h>
#include <string.h>
int main(void)
{
char source[] = "abcdefgh";
char target[5] = "1111";
size_t i = 0;
strncpy(target, source, 3);
printf("%s\n", target);
return 0;
}
which prints not "abc" but "abc1".
