if your house was built earlier than about 1975, you sure may have lead 
paint, the white primer on the outside.  they say just cover it up, do 
not remove it.  Other objects antiques painted white...  Lead Test at 
Lowes, HD etc.

also Red, red-lead is what they painted Navy Ships with up until 1975 
ish, when they also discovered the insulation they were using in side 
all the ships, asbestos, was no good.
