Yes indeed - hence the weasel words such as "for the most part".  And I
think we are talking more individual hatred here, rather than more
blanket group hatred.

It is also very complicated to try to define "hatred", and how much it
is directed against a person or just something he or she does.  (I
certainly do not hate Rick, but I strongly dislike his "holier than
thou" nonsense.)

My point was that there is absolutely nothing heroic, virtuous or
saintly in inspiring people to hate you or to hate something you do.
Christians are told by the Bible to remain true to their faiths even if
people hate them for it, which is fair enough.  But they are /not/ told
that this hatred is a sign that they are doing the right thing - in
reality, it is a sign that they are not being successful at "spreading
the word".
