Actually nospam pointed out that I got one item *wrong* in that list, which
is "sideline" which adds a second phone number.

How do you guys add a second phone number without using that app?

I completely understand your sentiment.
Most Apple users I know (and I know plenty 'cuz half my family are Apple
Afficianados) are scared of technical gotchas.

What they LOVE about Apple is that it makes them feel safe.
That has value (to them) which I will never deny.

They even bought Apple chargers (as if Apple owns the concept of volts and
amps), just so they can 'feel' safe about their charging circuits.

It's a GREAT marketing move, Apple did, when the charger fiasco hit the
fan.

Apple Marketing is the best in the world (well, maybe second only to Coca
Cola and maybe BMW).

Yup. If you need to do that stuff, iOS users "just give up".
It's the same tradeoff since the beginning of time.

You trade off security for flexibility.
Flexibility for security.

Your choice.

Yup. I have both. Linux and Windows too.
I make 'em work together.
Or not.

I have both.
And I buy stuff for others.

Those others want Apple if they're young kids.
If they're female - they want Apple (at least in my family they do).
If they're male - they want Android (because they can make anything work).

Nope.
I wish I was.
I could do a damn good job at being a software reviewer. :)
