Of course, with GNU/Linux, it is perfectly possible to shut down
the X Window system and work entirely in a command shell.  One can
literally switch between X and CLI at will anytime.

(Try that with Microshit Windows -- ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!)

It is very nice to have an ncurses GUI when tinkering around the
command shell as an organized interface can be much more informative
that a raw data dump.  I often enter the CLI for new kernel installs
and when implementing boot script changes, but there are myriad other
reasons for desiring a command shell interface. 

The ncurses GUI can be elegant and aesthetic as well.  It brings the
user a little closer to the "bare metal" of the machine and that is
always a good feeling.

Those who would disagree are those unfortunate and pathetic idiots that
have been exposed only to Microshit Windows for their entire lives.
They are so conditioned to the Microshit GUI that, like the stupid
Pavlov's dog, their feeble minds could never envision or appreciate
anything different.  What bereft losers!

Ncurses is just another of many GNU/Linux treasures that can bring much joy
to the truly competent and adept computer user.

Hail Linux!
