It would really help if you told us what it was you were trying to do.
What it sounds like is you are connecting via wireless, and then you are
plugging in your cable, and your computer is getting a cable address and
rerouting everything to the cable. But why you would be plugging in both
is unclear. So, pls say what you hope to accomplish and what you are
doing to accomplish that, rather than telling us that your solution to
an unkown problem does not work.
