The point that you missed is that anyone can concoct a scenario where their side will win. Using the hammer example a person could concoct a situation where a backyard picnic table has a loose leg. The leg is held by nails and one of them backed out. Given a hammer, it's trivial to fix. Given a screwdriver, not so much. However if the leg was screwed in then the person with the screwdriver could concoct a similar scenario where he would have the advantage. That is what is going on with these pee-pee-pee threads. They are pointless because one can set up a situation where any operating system or piece of software will have the advantage. And when these scenarios get coupled with statements implying that these are typical tasks that users are interested in performing it becomes even more ridiculous. I read the recipe thread and truthfully laughed my ass off. I'm a fairly typical user and I have never had a situation even remotely similar to what that chap was claiming to be common tasks. And that assessment leads right back to a carefully concocted experiment where the deck is loaded against Linux. -- Meat Why do they call you Meat? Is it because you are so big? Yep.
