Ich konnte es nicht glauben, stimmt aber - auch mit normalem passwd unter
Ubuntu. Fehlt aber was, wenn schon ein Passwort gesetzt ist:

echo -e "altespasswort\npassword\npassword" | passwd

Evtl. hat das einen Grund bei passwd, den ich gerade nicht erkenne?
Normalerweise läuft das eben wirklich nicht über stdin...

Für die ursprüngliche Frage (mount) ist aber (sauber!) entweder sudo/sudoers
oder user-mount in fstab zu empfehlen.
