I'm thinking of my father record player. It used tubes. Made to last.
Wooden box. Alas, the rubber mat on the plate changed to goo while kept
in storage. Some rubber wheel inside near the motor developed a large dent.
Useless machine after that. But it worked for 40 or 50 years.
