Eine Firmware, die sich erst installiert, nachdem sie komplett in einen freien
Speicherbereich des Zielgeräts geladen wurde, kann man durchaus over the air
an das zu patchende Gerät senden. Wird die Verbindung mittendrin unterbrochen,
kommt der Patch halt nicht komplett am Ziel an und wird daraufhin auch gar
nicht erst installiert. Der Update-Prozess wird erst gestartet, nachdem der
Patch komplett und unbeschädigt angekommen ist (letzteres lässt sich ja
relativ einfach sicherstellen). Danach läuft das Update innerhalb des Geräts
ab. Das dürfte sogar noch stabiler sein als ein Update via Kabel. Auf welchem
Weg der Patch in das Gerät übertragen wurde, spielt dann keine Rolle mehr.
