Type of the curve and its parameters depends on ( potential + kinetic energy ) / mass ratio, (ellipse for negative, hyperbole for positive, parabola for zero ) the initial velocity and position. Impact occurs for any of these curves, when perihelium of the curve lays below the Sun surface.
