Cast is difficult to weld, and apt to be brittle. Repairs often
involve returning it to the pot.

The hammering of wrought changes the grain structure.
(Extreme examples include Damascus steel for swords)

Most Americans seem to use "steel" for structural forms and for sheet
metal and fasteners, and for cookware that usually doesn't need
seasoning.
