which is two revs before what the person in that thread was using.
You see, a while back, Adobe was shutting down their online CS2 activation
system. And as a "service to their customers", they provided installers
*including* license key. The license key is to activate the installation
without using the (non-existent) license server.
Needless to say, at the time there was a feeding frenzy, plus
denials from execs at Adobe that it "wasn't free software". This
offer was only intended for customers with existing license
keys.
I've never installed that, but I collected a couple of the files
in my download folder. That's how I can offer a checksum on the
file. Because I have the file. And if you cannot find the file,
simply pop the checksum into Google, and I'm sure you'll find
a reference to the file somewhere. The long string of digits
I included in the saved file name, is the magic license key.

I don't really know if the CS2 files are still available,
but you can try ticking the box here and move to the

Note that the version in question
could easily be ten years old, but even ten years ago,
it was a perfectly competent application. The only thing
the new versions might add, is plugins that make
Photochopping easier (blending backgrounds for stuff
you paste into a picture).
One reason I go to Photoshop, is "A+B/2" math calculation.
Photoshop has an "arithmetic" function, for doing arithmetic
on pixels. And I also used Photoshop, because my scanner
had a plugin for descreen - which was very useful for poor
source material (stuff with halftones and dots). It wasn't
so much that Photoshop was essential there, just that the
plugin was written for Photoshop. You could scan from within
Photoshop, and the plugin took care of the details for you.
If the dot pitch was 150DPI, I could enter 150 in the plugin
and a lot of the dots would "disappear" into a blur. So it
makes halftone scans bearable.
