Where oil is going is anyone's guess. I've read financial articles where the
author makes a good case for oil returning back to $80/barrel. Other
financial articles make a good case for oil dropping into the $30/barrel
range. Right now it's $53.
I don't follow commodities so I don't have much of an opinion on where oil
is going. If anything I'm likely to agree with T. Boone Pickens (an
experienced oil man) who thinks it's going up.

The price of oil affects some stock prices more directly than it affects
others. Here's some random (off the cuff) thoughts from me:
Exxon/Mobil, BP, etc. - It obviously affects these companies directly.
Refiners, drillers and oil equipment manufacturers - Directly affected
Companies that use a lot of oil/gasoline (truckers, airlines) - Directly
affected (in a positive way)
Companies who export lots of goods to oil producing companies - Indirectly
affected. Some of these countries (like Venezuela) are getting crushed by
the low price of oil. If your company sells a lot of good to Venezuela/etc
then you'll feel their pain.
Retailers/restaurants - Indirectly affected. Consumers do have some more
cash in their pocket from lower gas prices.
Technology, pharma, biotech, social-media, etc - Barely any affect. Slight
positives and negatives cancel out. People aren't going to surf the web or
Tweet more because of oil prices.
Just my 2-cents worth. Good luck.

Heh. One doesn't need to be a pro, to know how stupid that is...
