I worked in the software industry for a few decades, and nobody 
but nobody would write the stuff our software did, in anything 
like java. It would be an abomination from the start.

One startup tried ruby-on-rails, and had to rewrite EVERTHYING
from scratch.

Inefficiency on top of inefficiency in spades.

But, luckily, an "app" isn't very sophisticated compared to what
runs on Linux platforms in the industrial environment.
