Driving an oldie is scant protection against car theft. You might be disheartened to learn that the most frequently stolen car is the 1990-1997 Honda Accord followed by the 1991-2000 Honda Civic... http://www.bankrate.com/finance/auto/10-most-stolen-vehicles-2.aspx These days, I just toss an extra Time Machine portable hard drive in my bank safe deposit box and periodically rotate in a current backup. This is in addition to the one I keep in a well-camouflaged media safe in my house. I was self-employed with a home-based business for 27 years and was pretty nutty about regular multiple backups,including off-site. My primary assets were intellectual property/data on my computer. Yeah it was a real PIA and I took ribbing from friends/family but my clients respected it. In fact, one of my long-term large corporate clients let me store/rotate a deeply encrypted hard drive in my own personal lock box in their walk-in media safe.
