On Slackware or a derivative edit /etc/adjtime: -4.189405 1402261132 0.000000 1402261132 UTC My computers only use Linux so I keep the rtc in UTC. IIRC, if the rtc is in localtime, the DST/ST transitions are not automatic. Then again if you boot windows it will reset the rtc after asking you.
