Are you asking because your PC dual-boots with Windows, John?  If so, I
found a registry hack for Windows 7 that will allow it to adjust GMT for
the correct local time, just like Linux can do.  I don't recall the hack
off-hand, and that machine is 500 miles away for the next week, but I
found it by searching, probably for Windows & UTC.

If you want to keep the PC on local time, and are running your usual
Slackware, you should be able to run pkgtool (as root) and select the
setup options from the menus that pertain to your timezone and setting
the clock.  I'm sure there's a more direct method, but I don't know it,
alhtough examining the pkgtool script should show you.
