Well, take WETA (they made Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit) or Industrial 
Light and Magic (they made the Star Wars series).
Both run their programs on linux, WETA to the extend that you can see the 
KDE desktops in their "making of" DVDs. They do not only the server stuff on 
linux, their desktops run it too.

For both of these companies windows would not even be a possibility, their 
stuff depends on the vastly superior clustering linux provides.
